Richard's Mother bought this ranch for herself and her family in 1995. It is shared between His mother, his two sisters and himself. Richard had owned several auto repair businesses in S.A., TX. and decided to leave the hectic city life to join his family in 1997. We met and were married here on this ranch in September 1998. Our Wedding was held on our mountain top with a double rainbow above us and a beautiful view for as far as you can see surrounding us. We understood the rainbows to be a sign from God that our past's were behind us and our futures were on the right path. It
is our desire to make the most of and share with you, this beautiful land
God has made possible for us to live on. When God gives you a seed,
you plant it and let it multiply ... hiding it, placing it on a shelf, or
in your pocket ... would be a waste of a valuable gift. We strive
to please God in everything we do. God
has given Richard a talent for repairing anything mechanical. He has
used that talent all his life ... made it to the top, having owned several
business in S.A. and realized that he was not enjoying life. So now
he takes it slower out here in the country, where he can stop and watch
the animals play ... and remember what is important in life.
Richard and his mother acquired sheep originally to keep the grass down.
Richard now raises them with the desire to improve the quality of the
breed and help others get their herds going. We also have a
donkey, a horse, and a sheep dog, who try to help protect our herds from the
many predators out here! We have a potbelly pig who is just here
to look cute. We
have a seasonal hunting lease we offer as a getaway for you city folks out
there. It is a wonderful, peaceful, place tucked away in the
Texas Hill Country with mountains to hike or star gaze from and a creek to
soak in! Indians lived in this area, many have found arrowheads on
their hikes, and we even have an Indian mound! Wild life abounds
here. Richard had Great Dane and had bred un-registered pups before he met me. I fell in love with his dogs and when we married, took over the dog business. We established the Kennel on the ranch, and began breeding "AKC registered" (pet quality) pups. I have always lived with dogs, my father used to raise hunting dogs (picture shown left) and has always had a full bred dog of some kind at his side, as did his father before him. I hope to some day, follow in my fathers footsteps and have a picture with one of my dogs as a winner to post next to my fathers. We currently dabble in shows and plan to show seriously as soon as my husband retires from his automotive repair business.
Web Site Design: All Endeavors: Richard and I are partners in Marriage and Business. We help each other in everything we do and we ask God to lead us. A
cord of three strands is not easily broken.
