NEWS LETTER:
EVENT
January 1, 2012
:
We
enjoyed a visit from Zoë, her owner, Laura McNally and their friends
the Wheelers today! Zoë is one of our retired girls bred by TTS
Danes, she whelped two litters before being retired in 2010.
2011
REFLECTION:
Last
year was a hard year on man and animals in the south. We are on our
third year of drought in this area of Texas and many rivers ran dry.
The Medina river was no exception. This is the first time in
history that this river has run dry. With unsafe water levels
and most days running as high as 110 degrees we chose to cancel our
annual reunion. Hopefully 2012 will be a better year for the
reunion.
Unfortunately for the first time in over 15 years of breeding we
have experienced wobbler syndrome in one of our lines. Genetics is
suspected to play a role in wobbler along with over nutrition and
trauma. I cannot apologize enough to the dogs and families that
have had to deal with this. I retired my girls from Faith. So Princess, who has had one litter with no bone
diseases, and Lady were retired from our breeding program this
year. Faith (previously retired) and Lady were both placed this
year and we are still looking for a loving home for Princess.
Two
litters which were conceived in late 2010 were placed in loving pet
homes in early 2011. We bred three litter's in 2011. One
of those three litters was born in 2011 and placed in loving pet homes
as well. We are
looking forward to seeing pictures as they all grow.
We ended the
year by delivering Georgia and Train's last pup, "Tink", to her new family the
Alleys, in New Mexico. We were excited to get to visit with Georgia's
sister, "Bella" (Zoë x Blue, 09') and her family the Leitera's while
we were there!
